On the surface, the suite was more than adequate, though I soon found myself wishing I wasn't in a room at the end of a long hallway. I appreciated that the suite wasn't overly bright but rather featured a mostly neutral color scheme (think: wooden furniture and white and beige hues) with occasional pops of red. The decor was simple and without flourishes. It was spacious, at 560 square feet, and offered ample seating in the form of a love seat beside the king-size bed, a desk with a chair and outdoor furniture on the balcony. There was a DJ at the pool, but the music wasn't excessively loud. However, even when I was walking to the pool and restaurants where most of the action - and I use this term loosely - could be found, the resort was still relatively quiet.

My room was away from the main building, which I enjoyed since it meant there was enough distance between my suite and the resort's social events to keep noise to a minimum. A great vacation and probably my very favorite. I still had fun even though everyone else mostly were couples. Everyone spoke to me and talked I was traveling alone. They taught us Spanish by the pool and did water aerobics. I just changed my plane reservations to stay I couldn’t bare to leave. I had to add a night cause I didn’t wanta leave. The food is small and not much to eat like a diet almost but I m good with a smaller portion and the taste is only ok. The place is beautiful get an ocean front / swim out room it’s amazing. It’s a lot of fun great activities great friends u make here. Occidental had really great food if u paid the extra for the one extra restaurant called royal past of hotel.

Intercontinental is not all inclusive but the food was excellent there no activities at all. I just went to 3 resorts in Cozumel just so I could rate them all. Overall if you can get a bargain price it is worth a visit, if food and entertainment is important to you then do your research and spend some more and go to another resort. If you get a deal on this resort it is not a bad option. My expectations were not very high. They do have a good selection of top shelf liqour but you must request they make it with top shelf. If your not worried about what you eat then it is a nice resort. Oceans restaurant for preferred guest was average and what I expected from the buffet option. The buffet was not good and below what other resorts offer. You get to use dreams, sunscape and secrets however many of the restaurants are only open certain days.

The entertainment lacked during the week but did seem to pick up friday and saturday. There is a pier for excursions right from resort. The other people in our group stayed in preferred and was given a swimup room, however the room was outdated and in need of modernization and no where near as nice as ours. The snorkeling in front of the resort was great and clear water. The A/C worked well had a new flat screen samsung, rainfall head shower and soaking tub and a couch. We stayed in a preferred pool view room which was very large and updated.
